This path was partially affected by August 2012 wild fire.

This is an alternative route up to the Alto de Garajonay, the highest point on the island, where there are a number of archaeological sites, which have been excavated and adapted for visits; this place was one of the main ceremonial and religious centres for the ancient Gomerans.

The walk offers interesting views of the woodland landscapes of the summit of the island covered in forest. The vegetation is dominated by young fayal brezal which is a result of the work of restoration of the plant life which replaces the plantations of pine which used to dominate the area until not many years ago.
