Parque Nacional Garajonay

Raven (Corvus corax)

It inhabits and raises its young on cliffs and rocky enclaves, which guarantee it the safety for reproduction. It is a very daring bird which does not hesitate to attack vultures and eagles that are larger when they pass over its territory, sometimes without any clear reason. It measures sixty-four centimetres and has a large and powerful black beak. It is an omnivorous bird which will eat anything, including carrion. It lays its eggs on rocky cornices in a nest of mud and twigs.
