Mellifera spurge (Euphorbia mellifera)

A shrub which on occasions grows to a height of twelve metres. It has the appearance of a euphorbia, that is to say, of a shrub which gives off a milky juice when it is broken, with agglomerated leaves towards the apices of the branches, in this case of a dark-green colour. It is to be found in a small number of populations in moist locations of the laurel woodland, with habits of life that are very different from the other species of Euphorbia.  Flowering: March-April
