This path was partially affected by August 2012 wild fire.
This walk takes you to the highest point on the island, the Alto de Garajonay where there are a number of archaeological sites, excavated and adapted for visits; this place was one of the main ceremonial and religious sites of the ancient Gomerans.
During the walk, you can enjoy excellent views of the forest landscapes which dominate the highlands of La Gomera as well as the neighbouring islands.
The vegetation is dominated by young fayal brezal, which is the result of work of restoration of the plant life which replaces the plantations of pine which once covered the area until not many years ago.
