Canary Islands Goldcrest (Regulus regulus teneriffae)

This is one of Europe's smallest birds. It measures nine centimetres and feeds on insects, like the tits, which in autumn and winter complete their diet with berries and seeds. They raise their young from April to June, in nests which almost always hang from the end of a branch. It is a subspecies which is endemic to the Canary Islands.
