Canary Islands Blue Tit (Parus caeruleus teneriffae)

It has a size of approximately eleven centimetres and like other birds of its kind it can be quite an acrobat searching for food on the underside of leaves, feeding on insects and worms which are their parasites and taking advantage also of the leaf buds on the most delicate branches. In autumn it may eat some fruit and in winter seeds. It raises its young between April and June in nests which it makes in holes. It is a subspecies which is endemic to the Canary Islands.
