Single points of contact

Article 9 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1252 (Critical Raw Materials Act, CRMA) establishes that every Member State shall designate one or multiple authorities as Single Point of Contact for critical raw materials projects.

According to article 9 of the CRMA, each Single Point of Contact will be assigned with the following obligations:

  • Indicating its own physical and electronic communication addresses. Additionally, if applicable and accordingly to article 18 of the CRMA: concession procedure, financing opportunities, support services and tax incentives.
  • Easing and coordinating permitting procedures for critical raw materials projects, as well as facilitating information.
  • Assisting promoters to understand any administrative issue regarding permitting.
  • Making sure every valid assessment, study, permit or authorisation is properly considered so to avoid duplicities.
  • Enabling applicants to obtain easy access to required information and to conflict-solving procedures.
  • Being provided with the required personnel, both in number and qualification, as well as with enough technical, financial and technological resources.
