Common dog-violet (Viola riviniana)

A small plant with a delicate stem with a base of leaves in the form of a rosette and a flower with five petals in violet-blue colour.  Although it has a wide distribution in the woodlands, it is particularly common among the mountain heather and in the laurisilva of the fog. It is distributed in woodlands with decarbonated soils almost all over Europe. Flowering: January-mid July.
