Los ensayos suelen presentar un estilo repetitivo. Esta obra, en cambio, desarrolla ideas diferenciadas en cada apartado. El texto propone una reflexión crítica sobre el ser humano y el sistema social actual, evitando enfoques complacientes. El contenido recorre un amplio marco temporal, desde el origen del universo hasta la aparición del ser humano y sus posibles proyecciones futuras. Asimismo, examina el comportamiento humano en distintos ámbitos —economía, política, sociedad y relaciones interpersonales—, señalando sus principales limitaciones. Cada sección ofrece un análisis estructurado de los problemas, expone sus carencias y explica las interrelaciones entre ellos. El objetivo del libro es presentar un diagnóstico transversal de la realidad contemporánea y plantear la necesidad de un cambio.
