G20
El G20 es el principal foro de cooperación económica internacional. Desempeña un papel importante en la definición y el fortalecimiento de la arquitectura y la gobernanza mundiales en todas las grandes cuestiones económicas internacionales.
El G20 tiene presidencias rotatorias anuales. Inicialmente, el G20 se centraba cuestiones macroeconómicas generales, pero amplió su agenda para incluir temas como el comercio, el desarrollo sostenible, la salud, la agricultura, la energía, el medio ambiente, el cambio climático y la lucha contra la corrupción. Cada tema puede tratarse en uno o varios de los múltiples grupos de trabajo, que decide anualmente la presidencia de turno del G20.
España, como invitado permanente del G20, participa cada año en estas reuniones.
La Subdirección General de Relaciones Internacionales participa actualmente en los siguientes grupos de trabajo, coordinando la formulación de las intervenciones y la posición de España con las unidades competentes del Ministerio:
- ETWG (Energy Transitions Working Group, Grupo de trabajo sobre las Transiciones Energéticas)
- ECSWG (Environmental and Climate Sustainability Working Group, Grupo de trabajo sobre la Sostenibilidad Climática y Ambiental)
Además, se proporciona apoyo técnico a los gabinetes correspondientes para la preparación de las reuniones de nivel ministerial.
Adicionalmente, la Subdirección General de Relaciones Internacionales colabora con otros ministerios en grupos de trabajo sobre temas relacionados con competencias del MITECO, como:
- GIB (Global Initiative on Bioeconomy, Iniciativa Global sobre Bioeconomía)
- DRRWG (Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group, Grupo de Trabajo de Reducción del Riesgo de Desastres)
- TF-Clima (Taskforce on a Global Mobilization against Climate Change, Equipo de Movilización de recursos contra el Cambio Climático)
La Subdirección General ejerce de interlocutor con los ministerios designados como puntos focales para estos grupos de trabajo del G20 (Respectivamente, para la GIB, DRRWG y TF Clima: Agricultura y Pesca; Interior; y Economía), y permite trasladar los comentarios técnicos de unidades del MITECO competentes por razón de las materias tratadas en cada grupo.
